Where’d they get the gun?

I’m starting a new category called “Where’s they get the gun?”

Why, you might ask? Because all too often we are presented with stories on “gun violence” rather than criminal violence. But in many (if not most) cases the perpetrator (the real cause of the violence) wasn’t legally able to possess the firearm in the first place.

So I want to raise the question: “Where’d they get the gun?” to stress that if we want to lower gun crime then perhaps we should find those responsible for arming the criminals and put them in jail, too.

Look forward to my liberal use of this new category.

Why I consider the Southern Poverty Law Center…

… to be a hate group itself:

In 2022, we tracked 1,225 hate and antigovernment groups across the U.S.

But wait! This is a DRAMATIC increase over past years:

Why the drastic increase, you might rightfully ask? Because in 2022 they added a large number of what they refer to as “anti-government” groups – or, in layman’s terms, any group who disagrees with the current administration. They also added parents rights groups because  – surprise, surprise – some parents don’t want their kids indoctrinated by the political extremists who comprise the teacher’s union (and the SPLC). Keep in mind their new-found foci makes ME a hate group, too, because I damn well don’t agree with massive uncontrolled immigration, get-out-of-jail-free cards for violent criminals, or teaching sexually-explicit materials to 3rd graders without their parent’s permission.

Lets face it – the SPLC has devolved into just another political tool, and their list of “hate groups” is now just a mechanism they use to harass and silence their opposition. Hitler could have learned a lesson or two from the SPLC.

Oh – and the one group missing from their list? Antifa.

Yeah; that’s what I think, too.

** Update: Looks like I’m right on this one… **

Lawyer’s Arrest at Atlanta Protest Sparks Criticism of SPLC

Yeah… that’s the ticket… an accident… yeah…

That’s why she allegedly recovered some stolen merchandise after shooting the Home Depot employee before leaving the store. No sense letting an “accident” go to waste, yes? Alameda County DA Pamela Price – a supposedly Soros-funded politician – will probably let them off with a citation… if she still has the manpower to even write the ticket:

California woman accused of killing Home Depot employee says gun accidentally fired

Here’s the best part: the alleged shooter/shoplifter was a licensed security guard with a criminal history. You can’t make this sh*t up!

I wonder…

…how much money the border states will get, assuming New York gets their requested $654 million from FEMA. My guess? None.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams says ‘migrant crisis’ under Biden administration has ‘destroyed’ city

New York has received ~4500 migrants/month, with ~55,000 arriving in the past year. For those of you who don’t understand the economic cost, it is reported that more than 34,000 migrants are currently wards of the city – at great taxpayer expense. Think not? From the same article cited above:

In a memo from the New York City Office of Management, reported by the New York Post, the city will spend an estimated $4.2 billion on costs related to migrants and asylum seekers that would be spent through June 30, 2023, and the end of fiscal year 2024.

And that’s just for New York. In contrast, last year migrant border crossings at border states exceeded 2.76 million.

Interestingly, back in August DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas criticized Texas for busing migrants to D.C. and New York, stating:

“These cities have certain capacities,” he said. “They have infrastructure to address the needs of migrants, and we need to calibrate the movement of people, according to their capacity and their efficiencies. And that is not being done.”

So the capacities of Texas are of no concern, only those of D.C.,  New York, and other liberal strongholds matter? DHS has allowed hundreds of thousands of “migrants” across the border each month, but Texas and other border states are expected to keep and support them all rather than “spread the joy” to the liberal sanctuaries who have demanding open borders in the first place?

RUFKM?!?

Better things to do?

Hey, California – doesn’t your AG have something better to do than to fight laws in other states that don’t impact Californians?

California leads blue-state attack on ‘absurd’ West Virginia law banning boys from girls’ sports

Same goes for New York, Hawaii, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington and the District of Columbia.

I mean, come on – don’t all of these states have their own issues to resolve? Like crime-ridden streets, budget shortfalls, and homelessness?

The states are supposed to act as crucibles for democracy; if you want to change the world, be a shining example. And worry  about your own state before you start trying to change any others.

“Use the ‘balance’, Luke…”

Stanford Law School Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Tirien Steinbach had this to say in defense of her actions at a protest of U.S. federal judge Kyle Duncan’s speech to the Stanford Federalist Society chapter:

“How we strike a balance between free speech and diversity, equity and inclusion is worthy of serious, thoughtful and civil discussion,” she continued.

But there is no “balance” between free speech and DEI. Free speech is independent; it is not subservient to DEI or any other movement. Speech must be free of undo restraint – including restraint such as that posed by the protestors at judge Duncan’s speech – even if the protestors are acting in support of DEI or some other cause.

DEI is simply irrelevant with respect to free speech – as is Stanford Law School Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Tirien Steinbach.

May the Farce be with you…

Wait a minute…

According the the report below, the MSU shooter had a prior weapons conviction:

Michigan State University gunman had felony weapon charge dropped in 2019

Even though he was not convicted of a felony (due to “racial inequity”; see the report), the report alleges that he was convicted of a misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of two years. But federal rules prohibit someone from possessing firearms if they have been:

convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year [1]

Note that it does not matter whether or not they were sentenced to more than one year, but only if the crime was punishable by a term exceeding one year.

So two questions arise:

1) How did he purchase the firearm. if purchased after his conviciton?
2) If the firearm was purchased prior to his firearms conviction, then why did the state not investigate and seize his remaining firearms based on his criminal conviction?

This shooting event was NOT a failure of gun laws – it was a failure of the state to properly enforce existing law. More gun laws will not help, particularly when existing gun laws work if properly enforced.

Lighten up, bigot!

What the hell is wrong with chicken and waffles? I *like* chicken and waffles. If you haven’t tried them, you should!

New York school, food vendor apologize for serving chicken and waffles on first day of Black History Month

Why couldn’t this be seen as a compliment to southern cuisine instead of an attempt at covert racism? Oh, wait – even if they didn’t call it racist, since white kids eat in the same cafeteria it would likely be seen as “cultural appropriation”. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t…

That’s how extremists seeking control like it; it leaves any attempt by you to be neutral subject to interpretation by civic “guardians”. It allows them to control speech by the social edict of their woke followers instead of direct government action.

Nice little end-run around the Constitution, no?
