Thank you, Dr. King.

From a recent article written by Dr. Alveda King:

So when I hear the term critical race theory, I say what’s critical to know is that human beings share 99.5 percent of our DNA. That’s what our students should hear from pre-school on.

We are more alike than we are different. We are one blood. We are one human race.

Well said. The more we teach equality, the more it will be realized.

Wrong problem, idiot.

Why won’t people go to work in their offices? Could it be that employees can’t go to the office because they are home with their kids as a result of the teachers not returning to the classroom? Begging businesses is not going to help; try the union instead:

Cuomo begs businesses to return to NYC after devastating shutdown

One of the top priorities in any disaster recovery program is to get the schools up and running so that parents can get back to work. Stop lamenting the low rate of office employees and instead tells the teachers to get their asses back into the classroom. Problem solved.

Nancy who?

Nancy Pelosi breaking with far-left demands? Will wonders never cease?

Pelosi says Biden doesn’t have the power to cancel student loan debt

An interesting paragraph from the story:

Pelosi on Wednesday acknowledged some policy concerns about giving some borrowers a break, while previous borrowers had to faithfully pay off their loans. She also questioned whether it was fair for families that didn’t go to college to have their tax dollars forgive the debts of someone who did.

She missed one: what about those of us who worked our way through college so as to graduate debt-free? Where’s our refund? Well, at least she’s acknowledged the unfairness.

Now, let’s look at the root cause of the student loan “crisis”: the government’s propensity for loaning money to students no matter how useless or worthless the degree. Maybe we should only lend money in amounts commensurate with the earning potential of the degree; at least that would incentive useful behavior.

Someone needs to send Nancy’s doctor a thank you note for finally getting her meds right…

Stalkerware

Yeah, like this won’t be abused…

Cellular-based GPS tracking device – only $5/mo.

What if you don’t know that your car is being tracked by your ex, who has hidden this device in your trunk? What if you want to be certain that your soon-to-be burglary victim is not home so you can ransack in peace? This will be popular among celebrity stalkers; just pay the car hop to leave this little device under the seat.

No one would abuse this technology…. that would be wrong… !

Government influence over FarceBook

When the government controls social media (or even has input), then social media acts as an extension of the government and should fall under 1st Amendment protections.

Critics slam the White House after Psaki reveals it’s consulting with Facebook to ‘flag misinformation’

Note the key quote from Jen Psaki contained in this article:

“Within the Surgeon General’s Office, we’re flagging posts for Facebook that spread disinformation,” Psaki said. [emphasis mine]

The key here is her assertion that they are flagging posts for Facebook, not on Facebook (like the rest of us). This implies a direct censorship relationship with Facebook to remove posts with which the White House does not agree. If you can’t understand the significance of such actions by your government – or see the parallel to socialist authoritarian regimes throughout history who have sought control over what the people see and hear – well, then you should be proud of your “progressive” education.

The government is free to express its opinion on Facebook or any other social media site, but it should not be allowed to act against the rights of others to express their own opinion (or to simply be heard).

Something from the “RUFKM??!!” bin

So, let me see if I’ve got this straight…

White House defends Hunter Biden’s art selling scheme: ‘He has the right to pursue an artistic career’

It works like this: when an art dealer sells one of Hunter Biden’s paintings, the buyer records are “anonymous” so that Biden doesn’t know who bought the painting and thus cannot be influenced by the buyer. But what’s to keep the buyer from telling Biden which painting he’s purchased and thus curry favor? Interestingly, this scheme results in the buyer being  hidden from the public as well; as a result we can never know who bought the painting and thus determine if they ever received preferential treatment from Biden or his father as a  results.

Even Obama’s former Office of Government Ethics director, Walter Shaub, throws shade on this agreement. He warns  that it produces a “…risk of influence-seekers funneling money to the Biden family…”.

If this is the “…trust and transparency…” promised by Jen Psaki, then we’re f**ked.

Constitution 101

Tell me what you think of the following quote:

“The Constitution was intentionally written in broad, open-textured language. It leaves it to each generation to give meaning to these words.”

OK, so let that last sentence sink in a bit. The author appears to be suggesting that each generation is free to interpret the Constitution as they see fit by simply changing the definition of the words contained therein.

Yeah; I’m gonna have to call bullshit on that idea.

Here is the next sentence from the quote, which the author is attempting to use as justification but is in fact rebuttal:

“It is and was meant to be a living document.”

On this point I agree; it is a living document subject to change – by the people through the amendment process, not via reinterpretation by political operatives. Partial proof is in the Constitution itself: if reinterpretation were the intention of the founders then there would be no need for the Constitution to include a process for amendment. And what about stare decisis, the concept that what has already been decided should stand? Doesn’t stare decisis go right out the window with the concept of Constitutional “reinterpretation”?

So let me tell you why I’m bringing this up: the quote above is from an article discussing the Constitution and slavery with a well-known Constitutional scholar, Berkeley Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky. The opinion expressed by Chemerinsky – that the Constitution should be reinterpreted by each generation (rather than modified though the designated amendment process) – is truly frightening; the fact that it comes from the dean of a prominent law school only makes it more so.

I cannot agree with Chemerinsky’s opinion, and I hope none of you do, either.

“We can’t show you…

…what we are teaching your kids because it’s copyrighted.”

Yeah, right. Do you know how stupid you sound? And you’re teachers?!?

Pennsylvania school district cites copyright concerns to hide teachers’ racial equity training curriculum

The best quote from the article:

When asked for comment about whether they’d share the materials in the interest of transparency, the school district’s director of equity and public programs Dr. Oscar Torres told Fox News that the materials “are proprietary and are not ours to disseminate.”

“This is not an issue of transparency,” Torres wrote in an email to Fox News on Wednesday. “As with most organizations that provide training, P.E.G owns the specific materials and you may wish to contact them for permission.”

Or maybe the school district should have made their use of the material conditional on being able to show it to parents? I mean, how stupid is that? “We can show it to your kids, but not to you.” WTF?

What are they hiding? That the 3 R’s are now Reading, Writing, and Race shaming? I mean, since math is now racist, no need for that anymore…
