1st amendment be damned…

If you had any doubt as to the pending demise of the 1st amendment in the far left’s version of the United States, here’s a quote from San Francisco mayor Ed Lee after one group’s attempt to use a city park for a press conference was thwarted.

“If people want to have the stage in San Francisco, they better have a message that contributes to people’s lives rather than find ways to hurt them,” Lee said.

“That’s why certain voices found it very difficult to have their voices heard today.”

Wow. Really; wow.

The alt-left vs. alt-right

With all this talk about alt-right incited violence, maybe we should take a quick look at the provocateurs of the alt-left. After all, it takes two to tango. Both groups should be held accountable for the violence resulting from their actions.

Note, too, that both of these groups are at the fringes of society; they have only gained mainstream support by bashing (sometimes literally) the other. If you look closely at some of the organizations behind these protests/counter-protests, you’ll see that any support you offer may be misguided.

For instance, on the so-called alt-right, the Traditionalist Worker Party: a socialist, anti-capitalist, anti-immigrant group reminiscent of neo-Nazi nationalism. On the alt-left, the Worker World Party: a socialist, anti-capitalist, anti-American group reminiscent of revolutionary Marxism. Are either of these groups really ones that you want to support?

So if violence occurs when groups like these clash, don’t fall victim to the rants of some who place blame on one side or the other. Instead, place blame squarely where it belongs: on the shoulders of all involved parties.

Disarm and conquer, Venezuela style

The cautionary tale of Venezuela:

First, disarm the citizens. Second, arm your supporters. Third, have a sham election that bestows upon you unlimited power. Wallah! your own little dictatorship.

This should be a warning to all those who are pushing for extreme gun control, or – like Venezuela – an outright ban. One of the original ideas behind the 2nd amendment was to ensure that the power remained ultimately with the people. It guarantees the people the means to overthrow a despotic ruler, and as a result acts as a strong deterrent against such a possibility.

Many believe such a despotic ruler could never come to power in America and,  since no such event has occurred in our more than 200 years of existence, that gun ownership by private citizens should be abolished. However, I would argue that the reason we haven’t had such an event here is precisely because of our right to bear arms. Without this right, things could change very quickly. Mark my words: When the people’s consent to be governed is no longer needed, don’t expect their consent to be sought.

Think not? Ask any Venezuelan.

Democratic socialism

Do you want to see where “democratic socialism” will take us?  Don’t bother to ask Bernie Sanders. Instead, look no further than Venezuela – where a former bus driver and trade union leader come President is now preparing to re-write the constitution (to his benefit) and jail his opponents.

State Department slams Venezuela ‘sham’ elections

Venezuela officials claim more than 8 million vote to grant government more power

Is this what a “Fascist” looks like?

Here is video of someone allegedly listed as a Vice-Chair on the web site of the Democratic Party of Orange County as he berates someone who is attempting to collect recall signatures for a local democratic politician that supported a large tax increase on gasoline. He is shown apparently willfully interfering with a legitimate democratic process, all the while insulting the leader of the group and questioning their affiliation with the gay community.

It’s ruthless. Looks pretty Fascist to me….

‘Every Racist … Voted for Donald Trump’

Or so claims New York City congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D), according to this Fox News report. So why is this relevant? It’s not; it’s just a way to cause harm by innuendo and implied association. In any event, even if it were true it would not make President Trump or his message racist; it only means that the democrat offerings were less appealing to this group.

I’d also counter with my own opinion that every communist in America voted for Hillary. This doesn’t make Hillary a communist any more than Jeffries’ claim makes Trump a racist.

Think for yourselves, people; don’t be fooled by political propaganda.

Generate violence, blame Trump

Telling little piece of news regarding a recent pro-Trump demonstration, where counter-protestors showed up to stir the pot and incite violence:

Police arrested 14 people in the clashes while seizing an arsenal of deadly weaponry, including clubs, knives, bricks and what looked like spears.

While police did not say which group, specifically, supplied the cache of weapons, law enforcement clad in riot gear had to shield themselves from rocks and other projectiles thrown by anti-Trump protesters, according to local news outlets.

The source of the violence was confirmed in this CNN article:

What began as a tense exchange of name-calling and profane insults took a turn when counterdemonstrators began throwing glass bottles, bricks and balloons of “foul-smelling liquid” at officers, Portland police said.

Isn’t this the same tactic used during the election? Send people to cause trouble at pro-Trump events, then claim that it’s the pro-Trump people who are violent? I can’t be the only one who recognizes this as a tactic employed by Hitler’s “brownshirt” thugs.

And they claim Trump is the fascist… maybe they should take a closer look in the mirror.

Unmitigated gall

Kathy Griffin, the comedian who posed for photos holding what appears to be the bloody head of President Trump, blames Trump for the backlash she has experienced as a result.

“I’m going to be honest,” she said through tears. “He broke me, he broke me, he broke me.”

Maybe not. Maybe we’re all just tired of the left’s extreme disrespect for the President. He may not be “your” president, Kathy, but he’s still the President of the United States – no matter how large of a temper tantrum you throw.

Note that she also places blame on others as well, going so far as to pull the race card in an attempt to recover some support from the uber-left:

“It’s hurtful to me,” Griffin said. “There’s a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me and I’m just here to say that it’s wrong.”

She even tries to hide behind the 1st amendment:

She said she plans to continue to make fun of the president as is her First Amendment right, her lawyer, civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom reiterated at Friday’s press conference.

I agree that Griffin’s picture is a viable expression of her 1st amendment rights, and that she has the right to take, display, and distribute such a picture. However, the 1st amendment does not protect one from the resulting public backlash when their speech is offensive. You can say what you want, Kathy – but you should expect people to treat you accordingly.

And for those of you who believe this behavior is acceptable and should suffer no repercussions, let me ask you this important question: How would you have felt if a right-leaning comedian was photographed holding the bloody, decapitated head of President Obama?

Yeah; I thought so…

Trump blamed for Jewish exodus?

The press is quick to blame Trump for practically any perceived “hate” issue they can fathom. However, sometimes they miss the mark.

This NPR article takes a quick jab at Trump, implying that he is the reason for an increase in the number of Jewish people utilizing a law that allows holocaust-survivors and their families to reclaim German citizenship. Some select quotes from the article:

“…since the election of President Trump, she says the decision for her suddenly became clear.”

“…but he says it wasn’t until the November presidential election that he picked up the phone.”

“…we have seen a considerable increase in applications since, well the autumn, or the end of last year.”

Never mind that the article ignores the fact that his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is Jewish. Jared’s wife, Ivanka Trump, has converted to Judaism, and it has been reported that their children will attend Jewish schools. There is no mention of this information in the NPR article.

Shame on you, NPR, for so blatantly misleading the American public.
